Union Power at CSR

In a great example of Union strength, CSR Welshpool have secured a new three year deal.

Originally management at CSR, a Gyprocking company, claimed they could only offer a 1.75% increase a year, for the next four years, due to an expected downturn in the construction industry.

But due to the hard work and determination of the delegates, members have secured a great outcome – a 7.5% increase over three years.

United Voice member Rodney said he’s very proud of how everyone came together.

“Fighting for a better deal is never easy.

“You have to come together as a team and stand strong.”

Negotiations only started at the end of January and although the initial offer from the company was insulting, CSR has a long history of Union power.

A very strong Union membership and their commitment to industrial action meant  by mid-march workers had secured a new in-principal Agreement, with no trade-offs.

“A fair deal means a more secure life for our families.

“I’m very proud of our members,” Rodney said.
