The State Government have handed down a budget that will plunge WA into a massive debt of $30.9 billion and a $1.3 billion deficit, for 2015/16.
The Liberal Government has pursued an aggressive privatisation agenda, planning to sell multiple public assets including the TAB and leasing the Fremantle Port.
United Voice WA Secretary Carolyn Smith has labelled the budget, “A fire sale.”
“Colin Barnett has sent a clear message to the people of Western Australia, everything must go,” she said.
“He’s prepared to sell off assets that have taken generations to acquire and he is going to sell it all off in a fire sale. Schools and Hospitals have been sneakily targeted too."

This May Day, United Voice celebrated 100 amazing years.
From humble beginnings of only 1420 members in Victoria and New South Wales, United Voice has grown to over 120,000 members across the country.
In WA, more than 200 members and their families came down to Fremantle Esplanade to celebrate the historic day.
There was a sausage sizzle run by United Voice Branch Executive, t-shirts and a cake celebrating 100 Years, proudly cut by proud life member Brian and Disability delegate Kehu.
Members proudly marched through the streets of Fremantle, leading the annual union parade, accompanied by a party-truck decked out in burgundy and balloons.
United Voice life member and former Branch President Brian Tennant said he would describe the day as “significant”.
“It’s significant because our union has celebrated 100 years in Australia,” he said.
