More than 70 Spotless laundry workers at Murdoch gathered yesterday to discuss the Log of Claims for the upcoming EBA negotiations.
Spotless members have a long history of active unionism, fighting for their rights within the workplace, and working together to win positive outcomes for workers.
United Voice members and delegates like Cheryl have fought hard to secure current workplace conditions. Cheryl knows this fight must continue to ensure the conditions that have been fought so hard for are protected in this new EBA.
“It’s our conditions and our rights; it’s not about money.
“We want to keep everything we worked hard for.”
The result of yesterday’s meeting was not only a better understanding of the Log of Claims, but a stronger membership base with two new delegates.
Cheryl was vocal in the signup process, urging non-members to understand the power in the collective.
“We’ve got each others’ backs; us members have to. I’ve got their backs 100 per cent,” she said.
The next step in the negotiations process will be for members to endorse the Log of Claims, and to set the first meeting date with Spotless management.
