Why We Aren't Increasing Union Fees

As of July 1, United Voice has made the big decision to not increase Union Fees for the upcoming year.

Member’s jobs are already feeling the pinch with cuts to penalty rates and a rising cost of living.

As a Union, Members have proudly stood united and achieved many wins throughout the year.

These wins wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support, both financial and personal, of members on a daily basis.

United Voice members believe that when the going gets tough, you can’t afford not to be a member.

United Voice delegate, John hopes the decision will help members to continue battling for fairer work places, better conditions and will offer some peace of mind for those struggling to make ends meet.

“Everything is going up, the cost of living is getting higher and not increasing the fees will help people who are struggling.”

United Voice member of 9 years, Vicki says the decision to keep Union fees the same will be a help.

“I’m on my own and this just helps with the day to day expenses like fuel, and more towards little treasures.”

Health member of over 25 years, Steve says he hopes the fee freeze will encourage people to keep fighting.

“Keep it up, without the Union members the bosses will always have their own way.”

This was a tough decision but we are stronger United, and United Voice members will continue to fight for better rights and to create an ongoing positive change within our workplaces, industries and communities.
